The original piston had cracked and parts of it ended up in the bottom end jamming the crank. I pulled the engine out and cleaned out the old piston pieces. I honed the cylinder and bought a new piston ( standard size ). Problem is the cylinder was badly worn and out of round so the new piston caught a ring on the power valve. Now I needed the whole topend redone. Damn.. thought this was going to be cheep fun. This is what it looked like before sending it to Wright machine for a new sleeve, piston, power valve repair and head resurface. Notice the gash in the power valve, the worn walls, and the craters in the head. this thing is looking pretty rough. Here are the after shots. Looks much better! BUT!! Wright machine sucks.
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth.
